Trayon Rumley
Trayon Rumley is an American basketball coach and former college basketball player, known for his work in player development, recruiting, and program building across the high school, prep, AAU, and college levels. He is currently an Assistant Coach for the University of New Haven Chargers, an NCAA Division I men’s basketball program.
Early Life & High School Career
Before attending prep school, Rumley played at Francis T. Maloney High School (Connecticut), where he emerged as a team leader and perimeter scorer. During his varsity career, he averaged 13 points per game while shooting 40% from three-point range, helping lead the program and earning multiple local and state recognitions.
He later attended Notre Dame Preparatory School (Massachusetts), where he competed against national-level talent and prepared for collegiate basketball. College Playing Career Trayon Rumley competed at multiple NCAA and junior college programs on full athletic scholarships, establishing himself as a high-level collegiate guard and team leader.

At the University of Hartford, Rumley served as team captain, team leader, and leading scorer, and was granted a medical hardship waiver for an additional season of eligibility. At the University of Bridgeport, he played multiple seasons while maintaining strong academic standing.
He was also a collegiate cross-country runner, highlighting his endurance and athletic versatility.
Coaching Career
In 2024–2025, Rumley served as an Assistant Coach at The Frederick Gunn School (Connecticut), where he worked closely with players on skill development, recruiting strategy, and college placement.
He is currently an Assistant Coach at the University of New Haven, contributing to the Chargers’ NCAA Division I men’s basketball program through player development, recruiting, scouting, and on-court coaching.
He previously served as Head Coach of Team Spartans MHC, an AAU program competing on the Made Hoops Circuit, helping lead athlete exposure and development.
